SE Texas Travelers.

This past weekend was a full one. We started it off by heading to Beaumont. Logan was 5 weeks old the last time we all made it over together - and that was just a day trip! It has been long overdue, but we have been trying. One weekend we were planning on going, Chris ended up having to work. The second weekend we tried, Aidan came down with a pretty bad virus. So, we were really trying and had to laugh when we got a call mid-week and it looked as though we were going to have to postpone again.

I got a call from Don, who told me that Tina, his wife, came down with a bad, contagious eye infection. We were really looking forward to seeing everybody, spending the night over at Don and Tina's house and Chris getting to play golf with his dad (finally - this was a way be-lated father's day gift and it has been over 3 years since Chris last played!). We were bummed, but weren't going to risk it with the boys by staying with Don and Tina. Aidan's immune system has been down because of his most recent bouts of illnesses.

However, we ended up getting an invitation to stay over with Chris' aunt and uncle, Michelle and Mickey. What a great idea!! We would still be able to come in and see almost everybody (We missed you Tina and are glad you are starting to feel better!), we would be able to help celebrate Stephanie's birthday and Chris would still be able to go play golf with his dad.

What a nice visit we had! We drove in late Friday night to allow for an early golf start Saturday morning. Aidan especially enjoyed the trip. He is so spoiled with attention over there it is crazy. He also adores his cousin, Aimee. They are really too cute together. Logan got a lot of loving too. He just got passed around everybody. Of course, Carrie got her baby fix because she is very eager for her little Katelyn to make her appearance in less than two weeks.

Here is a picture of Aimee and Aidan and then of Aimee holding Logan. She just loved holding Logan.

Here is a fun picture of my boys:

An exciting event of the weekend is that Logan started sitting unsupported. He had to hold himself up and it became a complete leaning thing, but it was so cute! Here are some pictures:

Since this weekend, he is getting much better. He can sit straight up and has even caught himself from falling all the way over a few times. It is a work in progress.

Most of the family caravanned to Lufkin on Sunday for Aunt Betty's 80th birthday party. Aunt Betty is Granny's sister and it was really neat to be able to make it for such a momentous occasion.

Here is Aunt Betty holding Logan who really wanted her pretty pin.

Here is a picture of Jennifer (a somewhat distant cousin) and all the kids. She kept Aimee, Aidan and even Logan still for a while with her IPod.

This final picture is of Julia and the kiddos.

We all had a great time and Aidan, Logan and I spent much of yesterday resting/recouping from all the excitement. Thank you Mickey and Michelle for opening up your house to us and being such fantastic hosts!
