Memorial Day Part One

Wow! Memorial Day weekend was fast, furious and fun! It started with me and the boys picking up Chris at work Friday afternoon to head to Bryan for a wedding. Our friends from our college days were getting married (Kyle and Lori). It was a beautiful wedding for even a more beautiful couple and we felt honored to be a part of their special day.

We got there Friday evening so we would be able to get an idea of the ceremony since Chris and I were singing at it. I think it was only fitting, considering the groom's mother helped coordinate our wedding and the bride's mother made all 3 of our wedding cakes. (Yes, I typed 3. We had a the bride's cake, the groom's cake and then the fraternity/groom's cake). Both families had an integral part of our ceremony. It was a very neat little circle.

Because we had to leave pretty early to get there in time on Friday, we ended up taking the boys with us for the rehearsal festivities. Both boys did excellent at the actual rehearsal. It was a glorious day, but hot. And, did I take out my camera at all this evening? No. What was I thinking? Oh well. You will see pictures of the boys later in the weekend.

By the time the rehearsal dinner began (8:30/9-ish pm) the boys had kind of enough. They both had a very full/tiring week before hand and then the drive, straight to the rehearsal probably did them in. We ended up leaving a little early only to get them to bed at 11 pm. Poor little guys. They were DONE!

Thank goodness for my parents who were kind enough to pick them up on their way North of Austin for camping/4 wheeling Saturday morning. It was kind of nice to be able to have the rest of the day and wedding to be a kid-free zone for Chris and me.

The wedding was BEAUTIFUL! Here are pictures that I quickly took during the ceremony. It was a really neat place..

Lori was gorgeous! Kyle wasn't too bad looking either. :) Here is a picture of Lori's brother, Ryan, Chris and Tosh singing. Chris actually sang a duet with me and a trio with these guys.

The reception was a blast with most of our friends from college back together again. It certainly brought back a lot of fun memories and got us thinking of a reunion of sorts. I hope that works out!

Here we are.

Mr. and Mrs. May (Jamie's parents who opened up their house every Monday night for wrestling cook outs. Surprisingly, a really GREAT time considering it was wrestling!)

Jimmy and Erin with their kiddos (Jimmy is Lori's other brother)

Tosh and Tammy

Jamie and Bridgette, Ella

Chris and John, who go back to middle school.

J.P. and Kati

Kyle and Lori

After the wedding Chris and I left and drove to my brother's house in the Austin area to spend the night. We got there MUCH later than we had anticipated and didn't get to sleep until after 2:30 am, only to wake up early the next morning to meet up with the boys. Whew! It was all worth it and the rest of the weekend was just as much fun, but needs it's own post. :)
