San Antonio Mini Vacation

The first weekend of this month, we went with the Ege family to San Antonio. One of my best friends, Heather, lives there and we always adore going to see her. This trip was a little more exciting because we brought the boys (big and little) along with us. There was never a dull moment!

Friday evening we went out to eat for dinner while Heather finished up some work. When we got back to her house, we just hung out and put the boys to bed at a decent time. At least we tried. Aidan decided he needed to stay up a bit longer to play. I will skip the details on that one. :-)

We woke up Saturday morning, loaded everyone in the cars and headed to the zoo. Last time we took Aidan to the zoo there, it was undergoing quite a bit of construction and Aidan was only about 8-9 months old. He liked it, but was still a bit young. This time, he thoroughly enjoyed himself. We have been learning all the animal sounds and it was such a treat to see him put them together! The zoo also had this fabulous area for the young ones to roam and play. Talk about a way to get all of Aidan's energy out! He and Caleb also enjoyed being able to get in and out of the Ege's wagon whenever they wanted. However, by the end of our jaunt, they were really quite content to just sit, relax and look around.









Later that evening, after a yummy home-cooked dinner by Heather, we decided to be brave and take the boys downtown to the River walk. Now, this weekend was final four weekend, which happened to be in San Antonio. Yeah, we didn't really plan that well. We actually timed that venture pretty well, as the games were going on during that time. The boys, Aidan and Caleb, also got to experience their first Riverboat tour. I am not sure Aidan enjoyed that as much as we did, but he sure did like looking at the little bridges, the big trees and munching on raisins. While on the boat, we went by the pre-game show. This picture was for Chris and for the rest of you guys who would care. I did recognize Coach Knight, but have no clue who else was there. After that full day, Aidan fell right to sleep back at Heather's and barely moved during the night.





Sunday we went with Heather to her church, ate some lunch and headed back home. We had a great time and hope that we were not too much for Heather. Heather . . . thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! We love you!!!!
